Annual Brahmotsavam

The annual Brahmotsavam at the Sri Santhana Venu Gopala Swamy Temple is a grand and divine celebration, drawing devotees from far and wide. This four-day event is a vibrant tapestry of rituals and ceremonies, each day unveiling new layers of spirituality and devotion.

Day 1: Ankurarphana and Shesha Vahana Seva
The Brahmotsavam begins with the auspicious Ankurarphana ceremony, a sacred ritual where seeds are sown in a symbol of fertility and prosperity. This rite marks the beginning of the festival, setting a tone of spiritual renewal and divine grace. The Shesha Vahana Seva follows.
Day 2: Dwajarohanam and Kalyanam
The second day heralds the Dwajarohanam, the hoisting of the sacred flag, symbolizing the commencement of the Brahmotsavam. Later in the day, the Kalyanam (divine wedding) ceremony takes place. The deities Rukmini and Sathyabhama, alongside Santhana Venu Gopala Swamy, are united in a celestial wedding ceremony.
Day 3: Laksha Pushparchana and Garuda Vahana Seva
On the third day, the Lakha Pushparchana, or the offering of a hundred thousand flowers, transforms the temple into a heavenly abode of blossoms. Later, the Garuda Vahana Seva takes place, where the deity is mounted on the Garuda, the divine eagle.
Day 4: Sudharshana Homam, Chakra Snanam and Devathodhavasana
The final day of the Brahmotsavam is marked by the Sudharshana Homam, a powerful fire ritual invoking the divine blessings of Lord Sudharshana. Following this, the Chakra Snanam, or the ritualistic bathing of the divine disc, is performed. The festival concludes with the Devathodhavasana.

Each day of the Brahmotsavam is a celebration of divine grace, devotion, and community spirit. The rituals, steeped in tradition and spirituality, create a profound connection between the devotees and the divine, making this festival a deeply cherished occasion in the hearts of all who participate.
